25 KJEMI 1 2025 To summarize, several classes of electrocatalysts including metal nanoparticles, single-atom catalysts and dual-atom catalysts were designed by density functional theory (DFT) calculations and synthesized for laboratory tests. Compared with NP catalysts, SACs show higher current density and selectivity for ECR to CO. Incorporating a second metal atom into the center of SACs further improved the ECR performance for ECR to CO. This PhD project is all about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in CO₂ conversion. By refining the structure and environment of the active centers, we are making great strides toward more efficient and sustainable solutions for ECR. About the recipient of the Yara Birkeland Prize 2024: Dr. Song Lu, worked under the supervision of Professor Zhixin Yu at University of Stavanger during Sep 2020-Sep 2023.
